Morehead State University and WKYT-TV are teaming up to help people in Eastern Kentucky affected by the March storms.

    MSU alumni, including athletes, TV personalities and special guest coaches will ‘Storm the Court’ to raise money.

    The charity basketball contest will be held Sunday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at MSU’s Ellis T. Johnson Arena.

    Tickets are a minimum $5 donation and will be available the day of the event at the door, first come, first served.

    A special performance by American Idol semi-finalist Shannon Magrane, who also will play, will be featured.

    Individuals scheduled to participate are:

    BLUE TEAM – State Rep. Rocky Adkins, men’s basketball alum and house majority floor leader; Chris Bailey, alum and WKYT chief meteorologist;  Leon Buchanan, men’s basketball alum; Megen Gearhart, women’s basketball alum; Jaime Gordon, MSU head volleyball coach; David Patrick, alum and videographer; Brett Roberts, men’s basketball alum; Liz Schuler, volleyball alum; and Donnie Tyndall, men’s basketball  alum and head men’s basketball coach.

    The Blue Team will be coached by Donnie McKenzie, Morgan County businessman; and assistant coach will be Morgan County Judge-Executive Tim Conley.

    GOLD TEAM - Doug Bentz, men’s basketball alum; Chynna Bozeman, women’s basketball alum; Greg Goral, assistant  volleyball coach; Brian Lane, former MSU assistant basketball and head coach at Transylvania University; Julie Magrane-Muntz, women’s basketball alum; Bill Mayo, cheerleading coach; Brian Milam, baseball alum and WKYT sports anchor; Brian Miller, men’s basketball  alum; Amber Philpott, alum and WKYT anchor; Brandon Shingles, men’s basketball alum, and Magrane.

    The Gold Team will be coached by MSU President Wayne and Sue Andrews.

All proceeds will go to the MSU Cares Disaster Relief Fund to be distributed in the region.
