Jaime Gordon has been appointed as Interim Director of Athletics at Morehead State. He will begin his role on April 1.
Gordon, who is the head coach of the volleyball program at Morehead State, takes over for Brian Hutchinson, who recently accepted the Director of Athletics position at Lincoln Memorial University and served as MSU's Director of Athletics since 2004.
Gordon, who will be in his 17th season as the head volleyball coach at MSU in 2019, has led the program to four Ohio Valley Conference regular season titles in the last nine years and nine 20-win campaigns in the past 13 seasons. The Eagles also won OVC Tournament titles in 2011 and 2013, earning berths to the NCAA Tournament both seasons.
His program has won eight OVC Team Academic Awards and has won 11 consecutive Team Academic Awards from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. MSU has also achieved seven straight Academic Progress Rate public recognitions from the NCAA.
Numerous players under Gordon have also been named CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-Americans. The Eagles have been leaders in earning nods on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and being awarded OVC Academic Medals of Honor.
A three-time graduate of the University of Kentucky, he earned bachelor's degrees in architecture in 1994 and art history in 1996. He also received a Master's Degree in sport management in 1996. He is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Gordon and his wife, Ashley, have two daughters (Sydney and Jamison).
