MOREHEAD After an inspired performance in back to back games, Morehead State’s Tyzhaun Claude has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Week.

Claude, a 6-9 power forward from Goldsboro, N.C., is the second straight Eagle to earn the weekly honor, joining last week's winner Ta'lon Cooper.

Claude had missed the previous two games but came back with a vengeance against Jacksonville State Thursday. Despite the Eagles falling just short by four points, Claude erupted for career highs in points (19) and rebounds (12) in his first career start, registering his third career double-double.

On Saturday, starting again, Claude corralled a team-high 10 rebounds and scored nine points as the Eagles ousted the Golden Eagles 83-72.

At 7.2 rebounds per game, Claude ranks sixth in the OVC and is the top freshman rebounder in the conference.

Morehead State remains at home this week, hosting SIUE Thursday at 7 p.m.
