The Kentucky Department for Public Health has identified an outbreak of hepatitis A. The department reports nearly 3,000 cases of disease -- over 100 of which are in Laurel County -- since November of last year. According to the department, Kentucky only saw an average of 20 Hep A cases per year before the outbreak.

TRI-COUNTY – With the recent eruption in cases of Hepatitis A, public health officials — such as those at local health departments — have been scrambling to get the situation under control.
