The editor:

Friday, June 14 is designated as Flag Day across our great nation. This is a day that we pay special recognition to Old Glory, our symbol of freedom.

The Rowan County Veterans Foundation will be conducting a ceremony at the Freedom Park Memorial Wall in beautiful downtown Morehead at noon to show this recognition. A special feature of this ceremony will be that of folding the flag. Our flag, when folded properly, has 13 folds, each fold has a special meaning. During this ceremony, the flag will be folded and an explanation of each fold will be read.

Rowan County Veterans Foundation encourages Rowan County citizens to attend this ceremony and learn of this special respect for Old Glory, our American Flag, our symbol of Freedom.
