Clear your schedule! Mark your calendar! You don’t want to miss Playaway Day at YOUR Rowan County Public Library.
That’s right. Playaway Day is Monday, Aug. 6. Come on over to the library and learn about the newest format we are offering for “reading.” Featuring adult and young adult titles, the Playaway Opening Day collection will have you “reading” like never before.
Brian Balash, Sales Representative for Playaway, will be visiting the library from 1-5 p.m. on Monday to share information about Playaways. There will be prizes and refreshments, too.
While you are here, let us tell you about downloading audio books by going to Kentucky Libraries Unbound from the Rowan County Public Library website. Did you know that one of our staff actually teaches classes on downloading? Some folks are afraid to try; others say, “It’s easy!” My response to that remark is, “It’s always easy after you know how.” So, let us teach you how!
We are exploring the possibility of circulating preloaded E-readers, such as Nooks or Kindles. Hopefully, you will have a few minutes on Monday afternoon to tell us what you think about such a service.
On the other hand, if you are among the thousands who love to snuggle up with a good book—printed, that is—take time to browse our shelves of new items. If we don’t have what you want, drop a note in the suggestion box telling us to order those books you would like to read.
The staff members at YOUR Rowan County Public Library are here to provide the materials and services you need for lifelong learning and recreational reading/viewing. We’re open 64 hours per week just for you!
