GFWC Morehead Woman's Club completed another successful year by donating 47 copies of Dr. Seuss's “Oh, the Places You'll Go!” to a students in one second grade and one kindergarten classroom. Along with the books, the students enjoyed juices and cookies.

Throughout the year, clubwomen brought to each meeting small cans of playdough and fidget spinners all donated to the Gateway Children's Advocacy Center. The playdough and fidget spinners are used to occupy the student's hands.

Members also brought items for the Rowan County Senior High School Viking Store. When a faculty or staff member sees a student going out of their way to assist another student or showing an act of kindness, students are awarded vouchers to the Viking Store. Anything from candy and gum to hairdryers and gift cards may be found in the store. Students never know when it will be open to utilize their vouchers.

Members are working with a high school Girl Scout troop collecting and sorting medicine bottles and caps for a recycled bench to be placed at the high school.

Members of the GFWC Morehead Woman's Club also prepared cookie and treat trays for each of the schools in Rowan County. Members brought the cookies to the May meeting and put trays together that were distributed during Teacher Appreciation Week.
