Local Morehead teachers and nurses will run the 200-mile relay through historical bourbon trace country for the 11th Bourbon Chase on Oct. 18-19. A team comprised of 12 women will tackle the 200-mile relay starting at Jim Beam and running through Makers Mark, Woodford Reserve, and ending in downtown Lexington.
The two-van team consists of runners from Morehead and West Virginia. Some of the Morehead runners include Brandy Breeze (Captain), Nicola Mason, Carol Goldberg, Maria White, Rhonda Flannery, Melissa Caudill, and Kendra Schroeder.
The ladies have been training for months for this event. It is both a test of physical and mental endurance as they tackle the scenic route with the goal of finishing within 39 hours.
