Christy Creek accident

A 45-year-old Morehead woman was flown to University of Kentucky hospital after her 1992 Pontiac hit a pickup truck three miles up Christy Creek Tuesday morning. The driver of the truck was not injured.

     A Morehead woman and a teenage girl were hurt in a collision on Christy Creek Tuesday morning, according to police.

    Kentucky State Police said Jeanie Brown, 45, of U.S. 60 East was traveling in a 1992 Pontiac eastbound on KY 32 when she was distracted and struck a 2002 Chevy truck driven by Jared Burton, 20, also of U.S. 60 East who was traveling westbound.

    In the car with Brown was a 15-year-old juvenile who was also injured. Brown was airlifted from the scene by a PHI helicopter and taken to University of Kentucky Medical Center. The juvenile was transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center. Both are listed in stable condition.

    The Rowan Rescue Squad, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, KSP, Morehead Fire Department and Rowan EMS were at the scene providing aid.
