The temporary lockdown of St. Claire HealthCare due to reports of an active shooter has been lifted.
At around 11 a.m., police were contacted regarding two reports of an active shooter.
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the hospital and began searching the building.
After searching the hospital, law enforcement was unable to locate a shooter, victims, or any other evidence of the threat.
Rowan County Schools were placed on "soft" lockdown as a precaution.
Emergency units on standby have been released and the hospital is back in full service.
