Timeless Treasures have been created by many regional quilters and will be on display at the Rowan County Regional Quilt Show on Saturday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. See the many beautiful quilts and learn how they are “Timeless Treasures” to their family members.
In addition, take the opportunity to listen to “Timeless Treasures” fabric designer and quilt artist Toni Steere explain how fabric is designed from the concept to the finished product (10 a.m. – 11 a.m.). Later in the day she will demonstrate how to work with pre-printed fabric panels (2 p.m. – 3 p.m.)
This year the Quilt Show is featuring Patriotic Quilts and encourage participants to dig them out and bring them even if they have been entered before in the show. David Litteral, Command Sargent Major, 10th Combat Support Hospital, will be speaking (1 p.m. – 2 p.m.) about Comfort Quilts in Iraq.
The Traditional music group “Woodsheep” will perform (3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.) Admission is free to the public. A queen- size quilt, made by Shirley Miller of Menifee County, will be raffled and given away at the show. Proceeds from this raffle will help fund the 2020 Rowan Co. Regional Quilt Show.
Organizers encourage anyone with quilts and/or quilted items to register their works of art for the community to see. Viewers’ Choice prizes (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will be awarded in machine and hand quilted categories only. All other categories are first place only.
