Update (Jan. 2, 2020): The Morehead News has received conflicting reports of Akers' reappearance.
Several emails claiming to be from family members were sent to the newspaper shortly after the second article of his continued disappearance was posted on Dec. 20. The emails, in digest, said he was alive and well.
This seemed corroborated by the fact Akers' own personal account also commented on the story on social media.
One of those messages, claiming to be his sister, said the missing person report had been cancelled by Kentucky State Police (KSP).
However, as of Jan. 2, KSP Post 11 still has him listed as missing. Post 11 covers Laurel County, where Akers' missing person report was originally filed.
Original (Dec. 27, 2019): Adam Akers, 26, of Morehead is no longer missing.
He was active on social media last week after The Morehead News reported he was still missing.
A missing person report had been filed with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office in early December.
