The Sit and Knit Groups meet on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 8, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., The Trutones in concert. The TruTones are an a cappella harmony group based in Morehead. They sing in the barbershop style and love to “ring” chords using only their voices. They sing traditional barbershop standards, spirituals, Irish and Scottish songs, and arrangements of songs by Stephen Foster, Woodie Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and others. Current members of the TruTones are Bob Lindahl, Bob Franzini, Joe Sartor, Mike Dobranski, and Kent Price. Admission is free and open to the public!

Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., The Non-Fiction Reading Group meets to discuss The Poison Squad.

Noon to 1 p.m., Crochet Basics. Learn the basics of crochet. Learn all prerequisite skills for the Beginner Animal Crochet Workshop on Nov. 16. Cost $10 does not include supplies.

Monday, Nov. 11, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., The Osher Reading Group meets to discuss The Library Book.

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Sunny’s Storytime. Two stories and a craft, free for ages 3-9. Stories are “Anna & Samia: The True Story of Saving a Black Rhino” by Paul Meisel and “Sulwe” by Lupita Nyong'o,

Thursday, Nov. 14, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Elizabeth Bowman in concert. Elizabeth is a musician, singer, songwriter, teacher, and visual artist from Morehead. She plays a number of instruments including mandolin, upright bass, bass guitar, guitar, and piano. Concert is free to the public and tips are appreciated.

Friday, Nov. 15, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., 10th Annual Masters Spelling Bee. A Sweet Prize awaits the top three winners. The contest is open to registrants ages 12 and up. A $5 entry fee for entrants, plus any additional donations that evening, benefits Rowan County’s A Storybook Christmas. Logophile judges, broadcasting by Randy Stacy at MIX106, special treats, and more.

Tuesday, Nov. 19, 10:30 a.m. to noon, Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church Reading Group meets to discuss The Enlightenment of Bees by Rachel Linden.

5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Sunny’s Storytime. Two stories and a craft, free for ages 3-9. Stories are “I Wonder” by KariAnne Holt, and “Just in Case You Want to Fly” by Julie Fogliano.

6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m., Mystery Reading Group meets to discuss The Wind Off the Small Isles by Mary Stewart.
