The Morehead State soccer team will spend another weekend on the road as it heads south for a pair of matches. The Eagles face Miami (Fla.) at 7 p.m. ET on Friday and Florida International at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. MSU currently holds a 0-2 overall record, while Miami sits at 1-1 and FIU is 2-0.


• The Eagles dropped their first match of the regular season at Akron, 3-2. Sophomore back Macy Cobb led MSU with a pair of shots on goal and a goal. Freshman forward Kimberly Golden also tallied her first career goal in the contest. Sophomore midfielder Holly Tilley had the lone assist in the match.

• To close out the weekend, MSU traveled to Kent State and fell 4-1. Freshman midfielder Kelsey Gomez scored her first career goal off an assist from sophomore back Kimberly Borys. Freshman goalkeeper Hannah Seeman collected five saves in the match.

• Kimberly Golden, Kelsey Gomez and Macy Cobb lead the Eagles with a goal each on the season, while Kimberly Borys and Holly Tilley have each registered an assist.

• Up next, MSU will host Ohio University on Aug. 31 for its home opener and close the weekend against St. Francis (Pa.).
