Former Morehead State University basketball player Jeffrey Drew, 19, was arrested on campus Thursday after he allegedly robbed a fellow student with a handgun.

Drew attended Hall High School in Bentonville, Ark., where he was named All-Conference, All-Metro and All-State.

His high school senior year stats included averages of 15 points and 6 rebounds as he led his team to a 26-3 record and 6-A Arkansas state title.

MSU Athletics Media Relations Director Matt Segal said Drew had been removed from the team roster before the arrest, due in part to poor performance.

Drew is charged with robbery first degree. He entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment Monday and was released on a $20,000 surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in court May 14.

MSU has banned him from the campus.

Drew saw limited action during the 2011-12 season for the MSU Eagles, playing only a total of eight minutes in two games.
