Wendell "Whitey" Baldridge
1935-2007


MOREHEAD – Wendell “Whitey” Baldridge, 72, of Clearfield passed away Saturday, December 8, 2007 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington from complications of a stroke.

He was born on May 17, 1935 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Oscar and Linda Click Baldridge.

Wendell was a retired truck foreman for Ken-Mor Stone. He was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the Upper Dry Creek Church of God, the International Hot Rod Association and he was an honorary Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, drag racing, boating and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewell May Baldridge and Ethel Dulin.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sizemore Baldridge of Clearfield, one son, Robert Dean Huff and his wife, Treva of Jackson, two daughters, Belinda Dawn Purnell and her husband, Scotty of Clearfield and Amy Nicole Blackford and her husband, Doug of Nicholasville, five grandchildren, Robert Dean Huff II, Jameson Kyle Huff, Whitney Nicole Purnell, Jayla Renee Purnell and Barron Thomas Blackford, one brother-in-law, Noah Dulin of Las Vegas, Nevada and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Herb Hyatt, Charles Maggard, Matthew Hamilton, Bill Bailey, Jimmy Hunt, Jackie Jent, Ray Crisp, Wayne Jent, Johnny Kissinger and Shane Dennis. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Brown, Avery Alfrey and Billy Templeman.

Contributions are suggested to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

Edward Earl Campbell
1936-2007


MOREHEAD - Edward Earl Campbell, age 71, of Dry Creek Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007, at his residence.

Born August 22, 1936, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Everett and Addie Hall Campbell.

He is survived by two sons, William Earl “Bill” Campbell of Anderson, South Carolina, and Robert Allen “Bob” Campbell of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; one brother, Eugene Campbell of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Jane Howard of Fairborn, Ohio; one granddaughter, Kristina Campbell; one great-granddaughter, Payton Campbell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a self-employed machinist.

There is no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Carolyn Prichard Crosthwaite
1912-2007


MOREHEAD - Carolyn Prichard Crosthwaite, 95, of Morehead died Friday, December 7, 2007, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

Born February 2, 1912, in Elliott County to the late Lewis Napoleon and Laura Hunter Prichard, she was married for over 65 years to Winford Russell Crosthwaite of Morehead, who preceded her in death in 1999.

Carolyn and her late husband owned Morehead Home and Auto for 31 years and were co-owners of Larry’s Marine Sales, Sinclair Service Station and C & H Furniture Store. A graduate of Morehead State University, Mrs. Crosthwaite taught in the Elliott and Rowan county schools, as well as in the Moonlight Schools.

A 73-year member of the Morehead United Methodist Church, she was active in Merry Mixers and United Methodist Women, serving as president of the Mary Martha Circle. She had also been a Bible school teacher and member of the Administrative Board. She was a member of the Rowan County Woman’s Club, the Order of Eastern Star, and for many years a volunteer on the Tray Favor Committee of Saint Claire Regional Medical Center.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cara Janelle, and a sister, Frances Prichard Brown.

Survivors include a son, Larry Winford Crosthwaite (Junius), of Lexington; a daughter, Gail Ousley (Paul), of Morehead; six grandchildren: Larry Crosthwaite Jr. (Paula) of Lexington; Michelle Eldridge (Kenny) of Lexington; Jennifer Jeffries (Richie) of Lexington; Jana Goeke (Gerry) of Saint Louis, MO; Lisa Barrows (Ken) of Delray Beach, FL; and Beth Ousley of Morehead; two step-grandchildren: Jennifer Huffstetler (Todd) and Matt Dover (Laura); eleven great grandchildren: Matthew and Kristin Goeke, Madison and Kyle Barrows, Kaitlyn, Hayden, and Garrett Crosthwaite, Austin and Savannah Eldridge, Jacob and Sara Grace Jeffries; and four step-great grandchildren: Sydney, Morgan, and Levi Huffstetler and Joshua Dover.

Also surviving are one brother, L. C. Prichard of Sandy Hook; one sister, Isabelle Prichard Stiner of Morehead; eleven nieces and nephews: Gretta Duncan, Jack Brown, Ron Stiner, Janice Prichard, Betty Aalberts, Barbara Lowe, Deborah Gullett, Joyce LeMaster, Roberta Dawson, Diane Akin, and Sonny Jones; a special friend of the family, Kathy Hall; as well as many great nephews and nieces.

A service celebrating the life of Carolyn Crosthwaite was 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at the Morehead United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Nettleton officiating. Burial followed in Lee Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Crosthwaite Jr., Kenny Eldridge, Richie Jeffries, Gerry Goeke, Ken Barrows, Matthew Goeke, Ron Stiner, Jack Brown and Sonny Jones.

Jack Fultz
1926-2007


OLIVE HILL - Mr. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Fultz, age 81, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 5, 2007, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Mr. Fultz was born January 15, 1926, in Carter County, Kentucky, and is a son of the late Waldo Fantley and Mae Logan Fultz.

Jack was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Olive Hill for the past eleven years where he was an active member. Of all his accomplishments in life he was most proud of when he turned his life over to the Lord and helped lead his friends to the Lord. He was employed by the Carter County Board of Education for the past sixty years where he served as teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent and supervisor, he coordinated the Carter County Annual Spelling Bee and Art Fair, was EKC Commissioner, KHSAA Board of Control member, KHSAA Hall of Fame Inductee in 1991 and an Ashland Elks Hall of Fame Inductee in 2007. Jack served his county with the United States Army during World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Waldo Fultz and infant brother Raymond Fultz. Five sisters, Alice Mae Stewart, Louise Tabor, Jesse Istock, Leta Jo Biggs, and Dorthy Withrow.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Jean Jessie Fultz. Two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Randy Steele, and Andrea and Dan Cornett all of Morehead, Kentucky. Three grandchildren, Randal Lacy Steele, Andrew Daniel Cornett and Connor Jackson Steele. There are numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral service was held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Mike Blankenship officiating. Entombment in the Jr. O.U.A.M. Eagle Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Grandchildren, family, close friends, former ballplayers and former students served as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill is in charge of arrangements.

Martha Lou Morgan
1934-2007


OLIVE HILL - Mrs. Martha Lou Justice Baker Morgan, age 73, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning, December 10, 2007, at her residence in Lexington.

Mrs. Morgan was born April 21, 1934, in Carter County, Kentucky, and is a daughter of the late Roye and Mary Opal Phillips Justice.

Martha was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Olive Hill. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Talmadge Justice and one sister, Juanita Hall.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ballard Morgan. Four sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Randall and Connie Baker, Rodney and Lynn Baker all of Olive Hill, Kentucky, David and Connie Morgan of Anchorage, Alaska, Doug and Glenola Morgan of Morehead, Kentucky. Two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Jeffery Mauk of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Maria and Gene Tester of Beattyville, Kentucky. Seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A host of friends and other family members who will sadly miss her.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Mark Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday and until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill.

Daniel Ingels, Nick Allen, Kalen Morgan, Clark Gordon, Matt Vetter and Brad Baker will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be, Paul Morgan, Aaron Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Doug Morgan, David Morgan, Gene Tester, Evan Baker, Kenny Stone, Justice Allen, Willy Allen, Jonah Vetter and Benjamin Vetter.
