Jerry Wayne Botkin
1959-2009


EWING – Jerry Wayne Botkin, age 50, of Junction Road, Ewing, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at his residence.

Born June 18, 1959, in Maysville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Douglas and Lois Bellamy Botkin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Botkin.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ratliff Botkin; one son, Tommy Botkin at home; two brothers, Gary Botkin of Ripley Ohio, and Larry Botkin of Portland, Oregon; one sister, Angie Ishmael of Sherburne, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Cassandra Botkin, Taylor Botkin, and Brittany Hawkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a self-employed mechanic.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.

Visitation is from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Hutton Funeral Home.

Debbie Sue McClain Caudill
1968-2009


MOREHEAD – Debbie Sue McClain Caudill, age 41, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 9, 2009, at her residence.

Born October 25, 1968, in Morgan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Arvil and Opal Moore McClain.

She is survived by one son, Justin Butler at home, and two sisters, Mary Jewell McClain of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Evelyne Lynn Caldwell of London, Kentucky.

Debbie was a homemaker and former teacher’s aide.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Crix Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Kaden Wade Dehart
2009-2009


MOREHEAD – Kaden Wade Dehart, infant son of Jesse Ray and Stephanie Leighanna Trent Dehart, of Kegley Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away at birth on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, Kaden is survived by maternal grandparents, Ricky and Robin McVey Trent of Morehead, Kentucky; paternal grandparents, Lee and Rhonda Trent Dehart of Morehead, Kentucky; maternal great grandmothers, Edith McVey Perkins of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Darlene Dillon Trent of Morehead, Kentucky; and paternal great grandparents, Cleo and Zella Slone Dehart of Morehead, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfathers, Johnnie McVey and Emerson Trent.

Private family graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the Trent-Dehart Cemetery, Kegley Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky.

Edith Johnson Ellington
1920-2009


MOREHEAD – Edith Johnson Ellington, 89, of Gilmer Texas formerly of Morehead and New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in Gilmer.

She was born on September 15, 1920 in Morgan County near West Liberty, Kentucky, a daughter of the late John Newton Johnson and Vena Haney Johnson.

After her marriage to John Paul Ellington, she lived most of her life on a farm in Rowan County on the North Fork of the Licking River. She loved the farm and Kentucky and lived there until she was forced to move to Ohio because of illness. Nine years ago, she moved to Gilmer, Texas to live with her daughter, Judy. Mrs. Ellington loved to walk in the hills of Kentucky and worked to save the American Chestnut tree by taking care of young trees. Mrs. Ellington was a hunter, excellent marksman and an avid reader. She was an excellent cook and was well-known for her fried chicken and the wonderful pies she made for Thanksgiving. She loved her family and was much loved for her thoughtfulness and devotion.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Ellington who passed away in 1991, three brothers, John Newton Johnson, Jr., Edward Johnson and Melven Johnson and one sister, Lorene Horton.

Survivors include one son, Johnie M. Ellington and his wife, Helen of Morehead, two daughters, Judy L. Ellington Green of Gilmer, Texas and Loretta C. Ellington Mutschler of New Carlisle, Ohio, six grandchildren, Larry R. Mutschler, Jr. of New Carlisle, Ohio, Jacqueline C. Mutschler of Houston, Texas, Kandice R. LaGrone and Shane Lakes both of Gilmer, Texas, Timothy B. Fultz of Lakeland, Florida, and Felicia C. Ellington Howard of Morehead, ten great-grandchildren, Larry R. Mutschler III and Shaylah M. Mutschler of New Carlisle, Ohio, Michael A. Wille and Nicholas J. Wille of Houston, Texas, Brie E. LaGrone and Jacob P. LaGrone of Gilmer, Texas, Justin C. Lakes, W. Tristan Lakes and Joseph N. Lakes all of Gilmer, Texas and Micheala C. Howard of Morehead and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ellington requested to be returned to her home, the hills of Kentucky and be buried in the Ellington Family Cemetery.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Visitation is after 10:00 A.M. Saturday.

Myrtle Anna Lea Kelly Jent
1934-2009


MOREHEAD – Myrtle Anna Lea Kelly Jent, age 75, of Lower Licking Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at her residence.

Born October 3, 1934, at Moon, Kentucky, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Nervie Blanton Kelly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Kelly.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Thomas Jent, whom she married August 22, 1953; one sister, Ineze Caudill of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Ollie Earl Kelly of Royal Oak, Michigan; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special great niece, Jamie Lea Catron of Morehead, Kentucky.

Mrs. Jent was a supervisor at Cowden Manufacturing Co. for 39 ½ years, a homemaker, and a member of the Johnson First Church of God.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Wagoner and Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Slaty Point Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
