Talmadge Adams Cline 1924-2007
MOREHEAD – Talmadge Adams Cline, 83, passed away of natural causes Thursday, November 1, 2007 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
He was born on September 10, 1924 in Soldier, Kentucky, a son of the late George Thomas Cline and Eliza Mary (“Elsie Mae”) Adams Cline.
Mr. Cline was a former produce manager for Safeway Grocery Stores and he was the owner of the Western Auto Store in Morehead for many years. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran having served during World War II. Mr. Cline was a member of the Morehead Christian Church, the Lions Club of Draper, Utah and was a dedicated volunteer Fireman for Draper. He was also a skilled carpenter and furniture maker and was an accomplished horticulturist who enjoyed the raising and cultivation of plants and flowers. Mr. Cline was an ardent patriot and an avid reader of American History.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Irick Cline and Ray Murphy Cline.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Douglas Cline (Vivian) of Draper, Utah and George Millard Cline (Deann) of Portland, Oregon, one brother, Bill Robert Cline (Colleen) of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
A service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers are Talmadge Gold Cline (grandson), Walter Andrus Cline (grandson), Burgess Clay Cline (grandson), and Ivan Krow, Sr., (friend).
Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Cline’s great grandsons; Jason TreVar Peterson, Tristan Gavaun Vlahos, Maverick Michael Fisher, Ethan Matthew Keller, Nathan Clay Cline, Tanner Talmadge Cline, Alexander Burgess Cline, and Carter Walter Cline.

Ottist White Elam 1920-2007
MOREHEAD - Ottist White Elam, age 87, of Bluestone Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007, at her residence. She was born April 10, 1920, at Vale in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Ida Belle Parrish White. Also preceding her in death were a brother, Delmar White, and a four-year-old sister, Bethel White.
Her husband, Thomas Edward (Edd) Elam, whom she wed February 7, 1942, passed away April 3, 1995.
She is survived by one son, Ray Elam and wife Margie, and one daughter, Kay Black, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one nephew, James Delmar White and wife Wanda of Grayson, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Joe Elam, Rick Elam, Nick Elam, Eddie Black, and Elaine Williamson;
and seven great-grandchildren, Loryn Black, Chelsea Williamson, Tyler Elam, Loni Elam, Ryan Black, April Williamson, Rachel Elam, Ashley Elam, and Joey Elam.
Ottist was a well-known and respected Rowan County public servant. The first female elected in Rowan County, she served as Circuit Clerk for two years and County Clerk for 30 years and 8 months before her retirement in 1978. A lifetime member of the Kentucky County Clerks Association, she was the secretary-treasurer of this organization for thirteen years. She served on the Selective Service Board during World War II, was Chairman of the Rowan County Democratic Party, was a Kentucky Colonel, and was selected the 1986 Woman of the Year by the Morehead-Rowan County Business and Professional Women’s Club.
She had been an active member of the Morehead First Free Will Baptist Church since 1976.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with the Rev. David Starcher and Tyler Elam officiating. Burial followed in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Black, Joe Elam, Rick Elam, Nick Elam, Bruce Elam, J. T. Owens, and James White.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are suggested to the Morehead First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 1003, Morehead, KY 40351.

Dan Eubank
FLA. - Dan Eubank, 58, of Key Largo, died on Oct. 29, 2007. He was a 20-year resident corning from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He was an avid fisherman and boater. He owned Eubanks Painting and he painted homes from Ocean Reef to Marathon enough to support his fishing excursions. Dan is survived by his mother Patricia Caudill Eubank of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., his four children Monique (Dustin) Kelly and Sunshine (Jeremy) Allen, both of Spokane, Wash., Joshua Eubank of Tavernier, Bridgett Eubank of Chicago, Ill. and five grandchildren: Bella, Skyler, Myles, Noah and Aiden. Dan has two sisters, Margie (Blair) Jordan of The Woodlands, Texas and Claire Eubank of Logan, Ohio, and two brothers, Richard Eubank of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Chris Charles (Bella) Eubank of Haiku, Hawaii. Dan will be missed by the local boating world. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 3:00 p.m.
