Curtis Stevens
1930-2007
MOREHEAD - Curtis Stevens, age 77, of Stamper’s Trailer Park, Farmers, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at the Greenbriar Health Care Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
He was born June 25, 1930, in Elliott County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Vess and Emma Jerrals Stevens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Edward Stevens and Lester Boyd Stevens, and two sisters, Edna Nadine Stevens and Mary Elouise Caudill.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldean Cox Stevens; one son, Junior Ray and Debbie Stevens of Clearfield, Kentucky; three daughters, Patty and Charlie McIntosh of Clearfield, Kentucky, Carol and Tim Helterbrand of Morehead, Kentucky, and Connie and Lawrence DeWitt of Clearfield, Kentucky; one stepdaughter, Linda Smith of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Billy Cline Stevens of Pebbles, Ohio; one sister, Pauline Stamper of Morehead, Kentucky; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Curtis was a former employee of a cabinet factory in Michigan.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Billy T. Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason DeWitt, Dustin Stevens, Joshua Stevens, Tim Helterbrand, Lawrence DeWitt, Charlie McIntosh, and James Stamper.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Mary Elizabeth “Nuge” Filson Walton
1917-2007
HILLSBORO - Mary Elizabeth “Nuge” Filson Walton, age 90, of Grange City, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 8, 2007, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born July 25, 1917, in Fleming County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James Blaine Filson and Emma Adkins Filson. Her husband, Noel Walton, preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Walton is survived by two daughters, Betty Howe of Grange City and Nancy Corbin of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren, Kevin Walton Corbin, Kent Corbin, Jan Howe Brown, Jacquelyn McCord, and Jeffrey Howe; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Walton was a homemaker and member of the Grange City Christian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Dr. David Barnett and the Rev. Randy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Corbin, Kent Corbin, Jeffrey Howe, Blake Brown, Adam McCord, Daniel McCord, and Christopher Corbin.
Gretta Hazel Ison Williams
1919-2007
WEST LIBERTY – Gretta Hazel Ison Williams, 88, of West Liberty, widow of E.T. Williams, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at the Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty.
She was born April 4, 1919 at Morgan County to the late Dockie B. Ison and Nevada Hayes Ison.
Gretta was a homemaker, an avid gardener and quilt maker. She based her life upon the teaching of the Holy Bible by demonstrating a great love for God, family, friends and neighbors. She always saw the best in everyone and expressed kindness to all. During her illness, she so often was heard to say “I’m going to Heaven some sweet day.” She has now arrived at that wonderful place she so often spoke.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Minta Ferguson, Monnie Fraley and Nancy “Dottie” Conley; three brothers, Arnold Ison, Earl Ison and Leslie Ison.
She is survived by two daughters, Deloris and Wayne Stinson of Morehead, and Kay and Larry Gilliam of West Liberty; one son, Bob and Sue Williams of West Liberty; one brother, Fred and Yvonne Ison of West Liberty; one sister-in-law, Ella Williams of West Liberty; one brother-in-law, Walker Williams Jr. of Isonville; five grandsons, Philip and Emily Stinson of Hebron, Lance and Jenny Williams of Austin, Texas, Eric and Wendy Stinson of Morehead, Kelly and Vickie Gilliam of West Liberty and Keith Gilliam of West Liberty; two granddaughters, Lana and Michael Price of West Liberty and Amy and Chris Baldwin of West Liberty; five great-granddaughters, Madison Price, Corryn Williams, Haylee Baldwin, Bailey Stinson and Clara Williams; and two great-grandsons, Conner Gilliam and Jarrett Price.
Services were conducted Friday, Oct. 5 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Chris Baldwin, Rick Pelfrey and David Ison officiating. Burial at Paint Valley Memorial Gardens at Crockett.
Pallbearers: grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
