Parmie Lee Bradley Campbell
1924-2007

OHIO - Parmie Lee Campbell, age 83, of Bethel, Ohio, formerly of Rowan County, passed away August 22, 2007 at the home of her son Tom Campbell.
Born Feb. 17, 1924 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Ethel McKee Bradley, beloved wife of the late Marcus Campbell, and the loving mother of the late Wayne Campbell. She had two sisters, Joyce Brunson of St. Paris, Ohio, and Tina Mae Bradley of Morehead, three brothers George Bradley of Pineville, La., Roscoe Bradley of -Cinn., Ohio, and Marvin Bradley of Culver, Indiana.
She is the loving mother of Tom (Jeanie) Campbell and Judith-(David) Kroner of Bethel, Ohio. She leaves one sister, Mary Decker of Granger, Indiana, six brothers, Jessie Bradley of Culver, Indiana, Sanford Bradley of Morehead, Ky., Orville Bradley of Bethel, Ohio, Gail Bradley of Morehead, Elmo Bradley of Vanceburg, Lodis Bradley of Hammersville, Ohio, Ora Bradley of Amelia, Ohio.
She leaves seven grandchildren. She was a member of the Lindale Baptist Church in Lindale, Ohio. She loved her church family and her family. She loved to travel and she loved her beloved farm.
Pallbearers were Billy Bradley, Allen Bradley, Marvin Creager, Steve Creager, Bob Cook. Honorary pallbearers were Jenne Johnson and Janet Cook.
E.C. Nurre Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements in Amelia, Ohio. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Beechmont, Ohio.

Walter Samuel Hart
1943-2007

MOREHEAD - Walter Samuel Hart, age 64, of CCC Trail, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born March 1, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Jessica Josephine Gorgan Hart.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dunn Hart; four sons, Samuel Hart, Steve Hart, and Tim Hart, all of West Virginia, and James Miller, Jr., of Clay City, Kentucky; one brother, Harry Hart of West Virginia; and one sister, Margaret Smith of Kenova, West Virginia. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Walter retired from Sealmaster after 21 years of service.
Funeral services were conducted 3:30 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2007, at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Greg Whitt officiating. Burial was in the Crix Cemetery with full military rites conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers were Timothy Hart, Sammy Hart, James Manley, Daniel Butler, Joshua Branham, Justin McVey, and Steven Branham.
Visitation was Friday, August 31, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Alma Hubbard
1917-2007

MOREHEAD - Alma Turner Hubbard, age 90, of Bratton Branch, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville, Kentucky.
Born March 30, 1917, in Jackson, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Scott and Mary Spencer Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Madison Hubbard, in 1971; one son, Chuck Hubbard, in 2000; four sisters, Maude Brewer, Callie Cornett, Evalee Turner, and Effie Gilliam; and four brothers, Robert Turner, Ray Turner, Jeff Turner, and Charlie Turner.
Mrs. Hubbard is survived by one daughter, Joan Ann Hamlin and her husband, Bo Hamlin, of Morehead; one son, Freddy Lee Hubbard of Menifee County, Kentucky; two sisters, Lucille Davis of Winamac, Indiana, and Ersa Seamons of Kokomo, Indiana; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hubbard was a homemaker and member of the Church of God. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and her grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were James Moore, Lonnie Hamlin, James Hamlin, Scottie Hubbard, Bruce Hubbard, Bo Hamlin, and Ethan DeWitt.
Visitation was. Friday, August 31, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Richard Staggs
1931-2007

MOREHEAD - Richard (Dick) Staggs, age 75, of West Main Street, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at his residence.
He was born November 18, 1931, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Hilton Anderson Staggs and Edna Sparks Staggs. One grandchild, Jesse Joe Caudill, also preceded him in death.
Dick is survived by his wife, Leanna Mastin Staggs; children, Rick Spencer Staggs (Sheila) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Mary Byrd of Fleming County, Kentucky; grandchildren, Caleb Hilton Staggs, Makenna Rose Staggs, Jonathan Wade Norris, and Jessica Dawn Wilson; great grandchild, Nevaeh Dawn Wilson; half brother, Joe Gormley (Ann) of Versailles, Kentucky; and stepdaughter, Martha Thompson (Barry) of Hillsboro. He is also survived by a special companion, Tommy, and his caregivers, Mary Peyton and Mary McPhearson, who so lovingly cared for him.
Dick was a well-known surveyor and public servant. He was a graduate of Breckinridge Training School and attended the University of Kentucky. He proudly served in the U. S. Air Force from 1951-1955. He was an engineer with the City of Lexington Public Works Department from 1958-1968 and worked with the U.S. Forest Service in Morehead from 1968-1973. He founded Staggs General Survey in 1973 and was owner and primary surveyor until 1998.
He served on the Morehead City Council in 1978-1979 and again from 1986-1989. He was also elected Rowan County Surveyor. He was a Kentucky Colonel, past member of Masonic Lodge No.1, Lexington, Kentucky, and an avid U. K. fan.
Funeral services were conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joe Cline officiating. Elwood Caudill was a special speaker. Burial was in Lee Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No.126.
Pallbearers were Caleb Staggs, Mark Johnson, Brian Johnson, Luke Victor, Elwood Caudill, and Barry Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were John Paul Kegley, Billy Calvert, Billy McClain, Billy Poage, Joe Gormley, Haywood Alves, and Earl Henson.
Visitation was Friday, August 30, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
