Eliene Carter Cox
1927-2008

MOREHEAD - Eliene Carter Cox, age 80, of Stark Ridge, Elliott County, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008, at the Life Care Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

She was born September 26, 1927, in Elliott County, and was the daughter of the late John Robin and Dovie Lee Scaggs Carter. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Clella Carter, Oral Carter, Johnie Carter, and Ezra Carter, and two sisters, Flossie McDaniel and Majal Utterback.

Her husband of 54 years, Columbus Cox, passed away January 10, 2007.

She is survived by one sister, Lizzie Lambert of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Calvin Utterback of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Iva Carter of Elliott County, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Eliene retired from Cowden Manufacturing in Morehead after 28 years of service. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, music, gardening, and farming and attended the Beartown United Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Austin Carter and Rev. Elijah Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in the John Carter Cemetery in Elliott County.

Pallbearers will be Roger Utterback, Rodney Wagoner, Tony Wagoner, Kenneth Carter, Adam Carter, Anthony Leadingham, Lowell Carter, and Jim Goodpaster.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Joseph Aaron Sparks
1976-2008

MOREHEAD - Joseph Aaron Sparks, age 32, of Little Perry Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, in Lavina, Montana.

He was born March 26, 1976, in Ashland, Kentucky, and is the son of Harry and Tina Kay Hatton Sparks of Morehead.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Destini M’Shay Sparks of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one brother, Chad Sparks of Morehead, Kentucky; and two special nieces, Tyra Jade Sparks and Leanna Jordan Sparks.

Aaron was a telecommunications employee. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar, and especially drums.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Brian Farmer and the Rev. Delmar Logan, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery on U.S. 60 East.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Hatton, Mike Hatton, Nathan Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Rick Hatton, and Jason Bays.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne Davis, Mike Jordan, Eddie Davis, Tony Kronmueller, and his brother Chad.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
