Barbara Adkins 1937-2008
OHIO - Barbara Jeanette Earhart Adkins, 70, of Morehead, previously from Marion, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008.
Born in Marion, Ohio July 6, 1937 to the late Charles and Zella (Boleen) Earhart.
On May 29, 1954 Barbara married Ray Adkins who preceded her in death. Barbara worked in several restaurants in and around Marion as a hostess and waitress. Along with her husband Ray who served as Pastor to several Church of God congregations, they served as pastor in Bucyrus, Ohio 1966-1970, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 1970, Jefferson, Iowa 1970-1971, Alger, Ohio 1971-1972, Associate Pastor Marion, Ohio (what is now the Victory Center Church of God 1972-1973, LaRue, Ohio 1973-1977, and Kenton, Ohio 1977. Her mother Zella served as Pastor for over 30 years, her father Charles supported Zella in ministry both in the Assemblies of God and then the Church of God. Rev Zella and Charles Earhart were founders of the Church of God in Marion. Barbara had a heart of Compassion for others in need and served most of her adult life giving to others and spreading the love of Jesus Christ to all she encountered.
She is survived by a son Robert J. (Susan) Adkins Minot,ND, daughter Barbara G. Adkins, brothers Joe (Jenny) Earhart of Marion, Troy (Joan) Earhart of Marion, Phillip (Donna) Earhart of Florida, sister in law Margie Earhart (wife of deceased brother Charles Jr., grandchildren: Emily Adkins of Minot ND, Annette Hines of Morehead, Ky, Angie and Jennifer adkins, Mandy (Jason) Leathers, Amy (Rick) Graves and Laura (James) Blankenship all of Lawrenceburg Ky, Ray Auterson and Thomas Auterson of Morehead Ky., plus several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Adkins, sons Roy L. and Charles R. Adkins, parents Charles and Zella Earhart, brother Charles Jr, sisters Cora Sedael, Marjorie Anderson and Faith Crissinger. Grandsons Christopher and David Ray Adkins.
Family will receive friends from 4 PM till 8 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors 347 West Center Street Marion, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Victory Center Church of God 1190 Fairground Street Marion, Ohio, with her son Rev. Robert J. Adkins of Spritual Life Christian Fellowship Church in Minot, ND and her brother Rev Troy Earhart of New Covenant Fellowship Church in Marion officiating.

William Henry “Bill” Horsley 1941-2008
MOREHEAD – William Henry “Bill” Horsley, 66, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after an illness of several weeks.
He was born on November 27, 1941 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Thomas Isaac Horsley and Rebecca Brown Horsley.
Mr. Horsley was a former employee of Homer Gregory Lumber Company having worked there for 35 years. He was a member of the Cathedral of Praise and enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Morton Horsley.
Survivors include his sister, Janie Trent of Morehead, his longtime companion, Beulah McGlothin of Morehead, niece, Willa Jane Bevins, nephew, Jamie Edward Trent and great-niece, Amelia Maynard-Trent.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in the New Alfrey Cemetery. Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be employees of Homer Gregory Lumber Company.
