Elizabeth “Liz” Pennington Buttry
1942-2008
MOREHEAD - Elizabeth “Liz” Pennington Buttry, 65, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after an extended illness.
She was born June 4, 1942, in Elliott County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Alta Fraley Pennington. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Randolph Pennington and Ronnie Pennington, and four sisters, Dorothy DeHart, Ann Anderson, Pearl Black and Gemmima Pennington.
Liz is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ronald Wayne (Specks) Buttry, whom she married March 12, 1966; two sons, Tony Buttry and wife Tami of Morehead, and Todd Buttry and wife Romy of Gallatin Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Emily and Alston Buttry of Morehead and Bryan Buttry of Gallatin, Tennessee.
She is also survived by one brother, Glenn Pennington and wife Gelana of Morehead; and five sisters, Nadine Downing and husband Jim, Leona Tackett and husband Vernon, Lurene Ison and husband James, all of Morehead, and Laura Pennington and Margery Griffith, both of Fairborn, Ohio.
Liz was a graduate of Rowan County High School and attended Morehead State College. She was an employee of Holbrook Drugs, the director of the Morehead Child Care Center and an employee of Fashion Bug and Goody’s. Liz provided care to her mother for several years. She loved knitting, quilting, working in her flower garden and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Starcher and Pastor Harold Davis officiating. Burial was in the Pennington Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Gary Black, Gary Pennington, Charles Ray Pennington, Charles Roy Peyton, Keith Pennington, and Randy Anderson.
Visitation was Friday, March 21, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Roy Robert Fultz
1924-2008
MOREHEAD – Roy Robert Fultz, 84, of U.S. 60 East passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008 at his residence.
He was born on March 4, 1924 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Calvin and Linda Burton Fultz.
Mr. Fultz was a farmer and logger. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially rabbit hunting.
On May 8, 1943 he married his wife, Mildred Katherine Conley Fultz who preceded him in death on January 10, 1988.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Fultz, Coy Fultz and Earl Fultz and five sisters, Della Stevens, Thelma Oney, Stella Stevens, Pearl Stevens and Hazel Fisher.
Survivors include one son, Robert Fultz and his wife, Connie of Morehead, one daughter, Wilma Glover and her husband, Paul of Morehead, one brother, Willis Fultz of Knightstown, Indiana, five grandchildren, Wayne Glover, Sandra Glover, James Fultz and Jeff Porter all of Morehead and Kathy Fultz of Olive Hill and four great-grandchildren, Kathy Joe Fultz, Brandon Fultz and Matt Jones all of Morehead and Kristie Hatton of Olive Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Glover and Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Fultz Cemetery in Carter County. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be James Fultz, Wayne Glover, Robert Blevins, Matt Jones, Kevin Jones and Ronnie Blevins.

Daniel Reece Hampton
1966-2008
MOREHEAD - Daniel Reece Hampton, age 42, of Partin Street, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
He was born February 18, 1966, in Pike County, Kentucky, and is the son of Emogene Tucker Hampton of Pikeville, Kentucky, and the late Caleb Hampton.
Besides his mother, Reece is survived by his wife, Rhonda Jo Kitchen Hampton; two sons, Brandon Reece Hampton of Pikeville, Kentucky, and Cory Reece Hampton of Lexington, Kentucky; one daughter, Bailey Danielle Hampton of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Caleb Rodney Hampton of Pikeville, Kentucky; one sister, Tammy Hampton Carter of Pikeville, Kentucky; and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a special friend, Timmy Bostic, of Pikeville, Kentucky.
Reece is also survived by his father-in-law, Ronnie Kitchen of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; mother-in-law Billie Jent and husband Delmer of Morehead; three sisters-in-law, Stephanie Kitchen of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Tina Jent and Tiffany Jent, both of Morehead, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Wayne Jent of Morehead, Kentucky; a very special grandmother-in-law, Leatha Kitchen of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; and 15 additional nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Greg Jent of Muncie, Indiana, and his grandfather-in-law, Charles Kitchen of Sandy Hook, Kentucky.
He was a former employee of Pepsi in Pikeville, Kentucky, and was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Reece never met a stranger and loved all people. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ricky Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Weddington Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky.
Pallbearers were Brandon Reece Hampton, Cory Reece Hampton, Dexter Brickey, Ethan Jent, Richie Jackson, T. J. Carter, and Timmy Carter.
Arrangements were under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
