Brenda Kay Benson 1947-2008
MOREHEAD – Brenda Kay Benson, age 60, of Boardwalk, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008, due to a car accident.
Brenda was born July 8, 1947, in Canton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Royal Mason Benson and Pearl Opal Thomas Benson. Brenda was raised by an aunt, Deloris Benson, who was her adoptive mother. Brenda’s husband, Roy Adkins, preceded her in death on March 3, 2000.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Annette Hines; three grandchildren, Alisha Adkins, Luke Adkins, and Colin Wilder, all of Morehead, Kentucky; her adoptive mother, Deloris Benson, and a half sister, Melanie Forsee, both of Sunbury, Ohio. Brenda also leaves behind several special friends and neighbors.
Brenda was a 1994 graduate of Morehead State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She attended the Cathedral of Praise in Morehead.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Scott Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in the Jennings Cemetery at Lower Oak Grove in Rowan County.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Hall, Dena Hall, Luke Adkins, Colin Wilder, Terry Lewis, Teddy Johnson, and Clifford Jent.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Cora Bowlin
MT. STERLING - Cora Eunice Bowlin, age 78, of Windsor Care Center, formerly of Menifee County, passed away February 21, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ledford Keith and Nancy Jane Adams Keith, her husband, Ophra Franklin Bowlin, a son, Johnny Franklin Bowlin, two brothers, Ray and Rexal Keith, both of Middletown, Ohio and a sister, Beulah Back of Wellington, Ky.
Survivors include two sons, James Bowling of Mt. Sterling, Ky. and Jesse Bowling of Middletown, Ohio, two daughters, Judy Back of Wellington, Ky. and Joyce Roach of Frenchburg, Ky. and one brother, Ansel Keith of Middletown, Ohio. She had 7 grandchildren; Merle, Sandy, Wayna, Jessica, Keith, Deana, and Jimmy and 11 great grandchildren; Tiffany, Michael, Brandy, Ashley, Samantha, Cory, Christopher, Abby, Matthew, John Conner, and Eli, and several nieces and nephews.
Eunice was a lifelong homemaker and a member of the Korea Church of God. Memorial services were held Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the Korea Church of God with Rev. David Hale and Rev. Martin Stamper officiating. Interment took place at the Johnston Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Merle W. Back, Jimmy Bowlin, Michael Allen Bailey, Keith Roach, Marvin Hitch, Jesse Clay Back, Josh Back and Tony Wynn. Taul Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Henry Conn 1935-2008
OHIO - Conn, Henry Jack Age 72 years of Trenton, Ohio died on Sunday February 24, 2008 at the Garden Manor Retirement Village in Middletown. He was born on April 27, 1935 in Elliott County, Ky. Jack served in the U.S. Army during 1954-56 in Germany, and received the National Defense Service Medal in recognition of his exemplary service. He and his wife, Geri relocated to Trenton in 1966. Jack worked as a barber in Middletown for several years. While enjoying a successful career as a barber, Jack also trained at night to become an electrician, joining the IBEW upon completion of his training. He travelled throughout the Midwest and south helping build power plants and factories, retiring in 1998 from IBEW Local 553. Jack was very proud of his work and Union membership. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Geri (Easterling) Conn; his son, Larry (Diane) Conn of Amelia, and his daughter, Lisa (Frank) Hotze of Palmetto, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Irene Conn. Because of his great interest in science, Jack directed that his remains be given to the Wright State University School of Medicine. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Garden Manor Retirement Village and Vitas Hospice for their outstanding support and loving care during Jack's final days.
Clinton Lunsford 1943-2008
MOREHEAD - Clinton Lunsford, age 64, of Pleasure Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday morning, March 8, 2008, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born March 18, 1943, in Carter County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late John W. and Bertha Snipes Lunsford. He was preceded in death by one brother, Delmar Lunsford in 1992, and one grandson, Tyler Dale Long in 2004.
Clinton is survived by his wife, Jackie Shumate Lunsford; two sons, Steve Lunsford of Lexington, Kentucky, and Mark Lunsford of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one stepson, Anthony Long of Morehead, Kentucky; two stepdaughters, Diane Binion of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Dedra Hamm of Morehead, Kentucky; and 10 grandchildren.
He is also survived by five brothers, James Lunsford and Ott Lunsford, both of Soldier, Kentucky, Thurman Lunsford of Georgetown, Kentucky, Glennis Lunsford of Globe, Kentucky, and Delbert Lunsford of Morehead, Kentucky; and three sisters, Lillian Cundiff of Soldier, Kentucky, and Betty Jones and Glenna Faye Fultz, both of Morehead, Kentucky.
He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and a self-employed carpenter, plumber and electrician. Clinton was a member of the Rock Fork Gospel Tabernacle.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lansford May and the Rev. Lonnie Conn officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning Chapel Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Full military rites will be conducted at the gravesite by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126, who will also serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Long and Randy Binion.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Dorothy Louise Herson Millem 1923-2008
MOREHEAD - Dorothy Louise Herson Millem, age 84, of Ashgrove Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away March 6, 2008, at her residence.
She was born July 27, 1923, in Schoolcraft, Michigan, and was the daughter of the late Laurel Preston and Belle Norene Weaver Herson. Her husband, Donald Leo Millem, preceded her in death on November 18, 2001.
Mrs. Millem is survived by one son, Michael L. Millem of Terre Haute, Indiana; three daughters, Vicki L. Davis of Delton, Michigan, Dottie S. Grantham of Morehead, Kentucky, and Darlene LaFountain of Shelbyville, Michigan; one brother, John Herson of Vicksburg, Michigan; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

James Stinson 1922-2008
James Edward “Poss” Stinson, age 85, of Old Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born April 21, 1922, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Jessie and Ethel Christian Stinson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Edward Stinson.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dexter Crosthwaite Stinson, whom he wed May 12, 1951; one daughter, Teresa Kimbrell of Morehead, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Michele Jessee, Jamey Jessee and Brandon Kimbrell; and two great grandchildren, Dalton Jessee and MaKenna Jessee.
Other survivors include one brother, Jessie Stinson, Jr., of Morehead, Kentucky, and one sister, Hildreth Sparks of Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Stinson served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a retired union construction employee.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Mantooth and Elder Deward Hall officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126, who will also serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
