700 pre-register for Transfer Madness

March 6, 2013 — Excitement is building for the tip-off of Kentucky’s first statewide, entirely online transfer fair to be held Wednesday, March 6, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. at http://transfermadness.org.

More than 700 have pre-registered as of Monday.

Transfer Madness will feature Morehead State University and 25 of Kentucky’s four-year colleges, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority, and the Council’s www.KnowHow2Transfer.org website.

Updated transfer scholarship information featuring all scholarships from participating campuses will be available in a single brochure at the KCTCS virtual booth.

The transfer fair is for KCTCS students interested in applying their credits to a bachelor’s degree and high school students who plan to begin at KCTCS. The event also is open to all prospective students interested in transferring credits.

In addition to real-time chat with transfer advisors, students may view and download materials, participate in video chats at some institutions at specified times, search for scholarships, and talk with financial aid experts at the KHEAA booth. Some institutions are offering special incentives and drawings for prizes for visiting their booths.

Students can to see how their general education credits transfer and count toward a bachelor’s degree by visiting the Council’s KnowHow2Transfer booth.

All of the state’s public institutions, 16 of the independents and two for-profits will participate.
