Car accident claims MSU student

Aug. 8, 2012 — A Morehead State University student was killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday, Aug. 3, in West Liberty, Ohio.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew B. Stewart, 19, of DeGraff, Ohio, was killed in the crash on U.S. 68 around 1:30 p.m.

Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 10:30 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio with Pastor Jay Yeager of the Vale Road Church of Christ presiding.

Burial will follow in Myrtle Tree Cemetery, Saint Paris.

A visitation for family and friends was held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Matthew Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund.
