MSU announces new tailgate spot for football season

Aug. 20, 2013 — Due to the construction of the new intramural and soccer practice field to the west of Jayne Stadium, the Eagle Rally Tailgate Zone has been moved for the 2013 football season.

Tailgating prior to MSU football contests will now take place in the paved lot adjacent to the Space Science Center (Smith-Booth Hall). Fans can access the lot from Lee Avenue.

The Eagle Rally Zone is the ultimate tailgating location, which has been created to help enhance the game day experience of fans by providing a common area for food, friends and fun. The Eagle Rally Zone will open four hours prior to each game of the 2013 season, allowing fans to enjoy game day with fellow Eagle supporters.

There are two options for passes to the Eagle Rally Zone: a single-game pass or an annual pass. The single-game pass is $25 (per car, SUV, truck) or $35 (per RV/bus). The annual pass is $60 (per car, SUV, truck) or $70 (per RV/bus). Fans may also reserve a spot in the Eagle Rally Zone for groups (Greeks, reunions, etc.) at $25 per game per spot.

Price includes parking fee, but not event ticket. Tents should be confined to the space allowed for each tailgating area and may be erected on game days only. No overnight occupancy is allowed in tailgating areas. Tailgating and parking areas will open four hours prior to game time and must be cleared and cleaned one hour after the game. Individuals are responsible for compliance with all campus regulations, local and state laws including those governing alcohol consumption.

For safety and/or health reasons, all beverages shall be consumed from plastic or paper cups and not from cans or bottles, pets are not allowed, only folding chairs and tables are allowed (no large indoor furniture), Gas grills are limited to propane tanks no larger than 20 lbs., hot grills should be attended at all times and charcoal grills, fires built on the ground and open fire pit devices are prohibited.
