Eagle Football 'Spring Game' is this Saturday, 7 p.m.

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State football team will wrap up spring practice with it Blue-Gold Spring Game at 7 p.m. EDT on Saturday (April 26) at Jayne Stadium.
There is no admission charge and fans attending can be assured of exciting football action and several other entertaining and worthwhile activities. Fans will be able to purchase a $1 raffle ticket good for a chance at several prizes and the proceeds will benefit the Matthew K. Ballard Scholarship Fund.
At halftime, there will be a “powder-puff” flag football game pitting the Eagle volleyball team against the Eagle soccer team.
The Football Eagles will be wrapping up a spring in which the coaching staff was trying to identify replacements at several key positions, including finding a new starting quarterback for the first time in three seasons and key linebacking spots. Finding depth on the offensive and defensive lines was also a goal.
MSU is coming off a 2007 season in which it finished 7-4 overall, 5-2 in the Pioneer Football League.

’07 Eagles earn Academic Honors
SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Four members of the Morehead State University football team were named to the 15th Annual Academic All-Pioneer Football League Teams. Nick Feldman and Brian Yost were named to the first team. Ricky Cornelius and Wes McDermott were named to the second team.
Feldman, a junior return specialist from Oconto, Wis., has a 3.28 grade point average with a major in sport management. Yost, a senior quarterback from Huntingburg, Ind., has a 3.10 grade point average with a major in business administration/management.
Cornelius, a senior fullback from Cincinnati, Ohio, has a 3.19 grade point average with a major in exercise science. McDermott, a sophomore linebacker from Louisville, Ky., has a 3.61 grade point average with a major in business administration/marketing.
The PFL Academic Honor Roll was previously announced, and 46 members of the Eagle football team were honored for their academic achievements (3.0 grade point average or higher) in the fall semester.
