MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State sophomore outfielder Ashley Archer has been named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in the Eagles' three-game sweep at Austin Peay over the weekend.
Archer entered the weekend series at Austin Peay hitting .191 for the season but broke out in a big way by hitting. 750 (6-for-8) at the plate with a double. She also drove in a team-high eight runs. Archer had just five RBI before the three-game series with APSU.
She began the weekend by going 1-for-3 with two RBI and followed that up with a 2-for-2, two RBI effort in the second game. In the series finale Sunday, she set a career-high with four RBI while going 3-for-4. Archer also went 2-for-2 in stole base attempts.
The Eagles host Jacksonville State in a key series this weekend.
