MOREHEAD, Ky. – The 12-game 2008 Morehead State University football schedule features eight Pioneer Football League games and the Eagles’ first meeting with Eastern Kentucky since the 1995 season.
MSU’s six home games are against Southern Virginia (Aug. 30), St. Francis (Sept. 27), Davidson (Oct. 4), Jacksonville (Homecoming, Oct. 18), Valparaiso (Nov. 1) and Campbell (Nov. 22).  Campbell is in its first season in the PFL.
Road games will be played at Robert Morris (Sept. 6), Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 13), San Diego (Oct. 11), Butler (Oct. 25), Drake (Nov. 8) and Dayton (Nov. 15).
“We believe our 2008 schedule is one of the strongest, most exciting that we have had in several years,” said MSU Athletic Director Brian Hutchinson.  “I’m sure our fans will be especially excited with the fact that we are playing Eastern Kentucky again in football.  We have six home games, four against PFL opponents including our inaugural game with new conference member Campbell.”
Coach Matt Ballard’s Eagles are coming off a 7-4 season and a third place finish in the PFL.  MSU led the nation (Football Championship Subdivision) in rushing defense, and junior defensive back David Hyland led the nation in interceptions per game.
