Both Morehead State basketball teams had their seasons come to an end on Tuesday night in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournaments.
Bruce Price scored 22 points and dished out eight assists as sixth-seeded Tennessee State (14-16) avenged an earlier loss to Morehead State (15-15) and upset the third-seeded Eagles 68-61 at MSU's Ellis T. Johnson Arena. Four Eagles scored in double figures, led by Jamyron Steward, who tallied 18 points in his final game. Nikola Stojakovic, also playing for the final time in an Eagle jersey, finished with 11 assists.
Third-seeded Murray State (22-7) rolled over sixth-seeded Morehead State (11-19) in women's action in Murray. Alaina Lee had 24 points to lead the hosts, while Brittany Pittman scored 21 to pace the Lady Eagles. Tarah Combs scored 14 points; and Anitha Smith-Williams had six points, six rebounds and nine assists in their final games as Lady Eagles.
