We play EKU at home this Thursday...!

To all the Morehead State University fans, and Morehead community, let me introduce myself. My name is Nikola Stojakovic, the starting point guard for the MSU Eagles basketball team. I am currently a senior, originally from Serbia, and have played for Coach Tyndall for the last year and half.

When Coach Tyndall first visited me at my junior college in Illinois, he told me about the passion that the fans of Morehead State University have for our school and our team. At first, I was skeptical, because it is not uncommon for coaches to stretch the truth when trying to recruit players.

However, Coach Tyndall is not one to exaggerate, and I found this to be true immediately. The passion I have experienced, and love of the Eagles has been overwhelming, and this is never truer than when Eastern Kentucky University is involved.

I had never really been part of an intense rivalry until I came to Morehead State, but last year showed me what the university, and our success means to the local community.

And of course, I cannot explain what the community and fans have meant to me, and more importantly, our team. I have loved my time here, will always stay close to the school, and hope to continue to give back to the Eagles for many years to come.

It is for all of these reasons I am looking forward to our big game against EKU this Thursday. Many of my classmates will start returning home from the holidays, but we still need the same unbelievable support you have given us this year at home.

We are still perfect at home, and with your help, we can stay undefeated on our court.

Please come out and support this Thursday, as we continue our conference season. I will do everything I can to make sure we defeat the Colonels, and I know you will too.

Thanks and I can’t wait to hear you cheering in the stands!
