Five named in indictments

Feb. 26, 2013 — Five persons were indicted by a Rowan County grand jury on Feb. 15.

Indicted were:

• Larry D. Barker, 31, and Luevern J. Fultz, 42, for theft by unlawful taking when they allegedly took a $4,850 Ford F-150 pickup truck belonging to Jamie Stidham on Jan. 12.

• Mary Ellen Meade, 31, for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon when she allegedly had a .357 Taurus revolver in her possession on March 19, 2012.

• Scottie D. Ingle, 30, for second-degree assault when he allegedly stuck a juvenile causing a broken leg after passing a school bus with its emergency equipment activated on Feb. 13.

Ingle also was indicted for wanton endangerment in the same incident involving a school bus, nearly striking a second juvenile.

• Mark Allen Black, 35, for two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance when he allegedly soldf 36 oxycodone pills and Alprazolam and Diazepam on Dec. 10, 2012.

An indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

A charge of trafficking against Dennis Black in a controlled substance was dismissed by the grand jury and one case was continued.

Thirteen cases were continued because of a lack of case reports or incomplete lab results.
