STAR rescues dogs

Oct. 7, 2011 —     Saving the Animals of Rowan or STAR helped rescue more than 100 dogs from a home in Rowan County Thursday.

The owner of the home where the dogs were found will be cited for violating the county’s kennel ordinance because she had more than six dogs.

STAR members said the dogs were found in deplorable condition: some allegedly had mold growing on them, had rotted teeth or had dead rats in their cages.

The Morehead News will be following this story as information comes forward.
