An essential job required by farmers to feed livestock claimed the life of Montgomery County man Tuesday.
Linville Davis, 68, of Winchester was found unresponsive near a rolled-hay baler about just after midnight and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Kentucky State Police, the call for help sent emergency officials to the farm equipment accident at the Valhalla Subdivision.
Montgomery County Coroner Wally Johnson said Davis died from injuries sustained from the hay baler.
No foul play is suspected and the incident remains under investigation by Trooper Jeremy Hamm and Detective Larry Bowling.
According to Internet reports, Davis was scheduled to stand trial next week on animal cruelty charges. Back in April, police reported finding horses dead and starving on his Clark County farm.
