Soap down the saddles and run those wintered horses out of the barn because it’s once again time for the annual SATF Horse Fun Show set to take place April 12 at the Morehead State University Farm.
It’s all for a worthy cause as the Sexual Assault Task Force (Community/Campus) gets ready to offer 22 fan-favorite classes including the shovel race, speed racking and ladies’ country pleasure.
All money received from show would go toward helping victims of sexual assault or abuse, said Diane Rodgers, rape victims’ coordinator and educator for Pathways Inc.
“At the state level there is no money allocated for victims for sexual assault, and with this we are able to provide deposits for relocation, utility expenses, clothing and other personal care items,” Rodgers commented. “In fact, this is our only fund raiser and without this event’s proceed we would have no money for assistance or awareness.”
The event will be held rain or shine and the first 100 people with paid admission will receive a free halter. The gates will open at 10 a.m. with the show beginning at noon. Entry per class is $3 with the exceptions of the free stick horse entry and a $5 fee for the championship classes. For more information or to set up a booth contact Rodgers at 784.4161.
