SATF fun horse show scheduled for April 11

Saddle up and get ready for the annual SATF Fun Horse Show set to take place April 11 at the Morehead State University Farm.

It’s all for a worthy cause as the Sexual Assault Task Force (Community/Campus) gets ready to offer 22 fan-favorite classes including the shovel race, speed racking and ladies’ country pleasure.

All money received from the show will go toward helping victims of sexual assault or abuse, said Diane Rodgers, rape victims’ coordinator and educator for Pathways Inc.

“At the state level there is no money allocated for victims for sexual assault, and with this we are able to provide deposits for relocation, utility expenses, clothing and other personal care items,” Rodgers commented. “In fact, this is our only fund raiser and without this event’s proceed we would have no money for assistance or awareness.”

The event will be held rain or shine and the first 100 people with paid admission will receive a free halter.

And don’t forget to take along the tiny cowpokes, as children are certain to have a good time participating in several planned activities during intermission including an egg-coloring contest.

The MSU Farm gates are set to open at 10 a.m. with the show beginning at noon. Entry per class is $3 with the exceptions of the free stick horse entry and a $5 fee for the championship classes. For more information or to set up a booth contact Rodgers at 784-4161.
