Feb. 10, 2012 —
On behalf of the GFWC/Morehead Woman’s Club we want to thank all of the Kroger shoppers who participated in the 4th Annual Shop & Share Program on Saturday, Feb. 4. Your generosity provided over $1,400 in needed items for Gateway DOVES. Statewide it was announced that over $800,000 was collected through this initiative. Thanks also go out to the local Girl Scouts and those who needed community service credits along with our members who volunteered their time to make the day successful.

KY Gives Day thanks
On April 9 Gateway Community Action participated in the second annual KY Gives Day, where nonprofits from across the state reached out to their communities requesting donations to support their mission.
School traffic should be monitored
This letter is written to express concern to the city about traffic issues out at the schools.
Supporting education is everyone’s job
As parents of children in the Rowan County School system, we would like to thank teachers for all of their hard work and dedication.
Keep the county clean
I have a dream. Keep Rowan County green.
Legislators fail to help the unborn
Well, Rep. Rocky Adkins has won again, and thousands of unborn babies unfortunately have lost. Thanks to his efforts and the efforts of other House leaders, the people of Kentucky and their wishes have not been fairly represented in Frankfort.
KET contributors appreciated
Thank you to everyone in Rowan County who became a KET member by making a contribution during TeleFund 2014!
What really qualifies candidates?
I am disappointed in your “In Our Opinion” column of March 14 where you encourage Senator Rand Paul to run for President in 2016.
Remember civil rights march
Wednesday, March 5, 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s March on Frankfort. The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights and other members of the Allied Organizations for Civil Rights are sponsoring this event.
Support KET during March Telefund
I am a volunteer at KET, Kentucky’s statewide public television system. I volunteer my time there because for years my family and I have enjoyed the diverse, wonderful programming and services KET provides, and I want to take part in passing those things on to others in my community.
Thanks to county workers
My family and I would like to thank the Rowan County Road Department and magistrate Harry Clark for the fine job they did this cold, snowy winter of keeping our road clear.
