Communities across America are beginning to understand the importance of recycling and are slowly becoming recycle towns. Recycling helps the environment and helps make recyclable products cheaper for individuals.
Individuals have a responsibility to recycle including electronic devices. Electronics such as telephones, radios, computers and cell phones have transfigured our world into the fast-paced environment that it is today. However, these items also threaten our environment because of the dangerous chemicals they contain.
Recycling your electronic items keeps them from reaching landfills so there is less waste. Recycling these items also allows other organizations that need them to reuse the resources available from these products. All over America today schools and local family resource groups are reusing these electronics.
Rowan County Community Recycling Center is taking the first step by offering a free E-Scrap Day for the community. Take your electronics to the CRC on Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
