With the Thanksgiving season upon us, I would like to share about a gift my father gave my son Craig, many years ago, which turned up at our local Goodwill store and how very thankful I am to have it back within our family.
A family member purchased a ceramic jar from the Goodwill, that belonged to my son, for a very small price, but for me this jar is priceless, and I don’t believe that the finding and purchasing of it was just by accident or a coincidence.
Doesn’t the Lord work in mysterious ways? What are the chances of a recovery, of my precious son’s belongings, that meant nothing to the person that placed them at the Goodwill? God knew my heart, and how I longed to have my son’s belongings. You that have lost loved ones know exactly what I am saying, the longing for anything they owned or touched. God also knows the person’s heart whom gave my precious son’s belongings to the Goodwill, maybe it was done by accident, but for whatever reason, I’m glad it is back where it belongs with the ones who love and miss Craig.
The finding of my son’s ceramic jar is something I will always be thankful for. May you each and everyone have a blessed Thanksgiving, and I ask a special blessing upon the person that gave Craig’s jar to the Morehead Goodwill.
I think of Craig as living in the heart of those he touched, for nothing loved is ever lost, and Craig was loved so much.
