RCMS artists display work
The Rowan County Arts Center, 205 East Main Street, Morehead will display artwork created by Rowan County Middle School students under the direction of middle school art teacher, Henry Parsons now through May 28.
Featured in the 2008 Middle School Exhibit are the works of the following students: Morgan Cyrus, Bethany Lee Gilkinson, Lee Ann Malone, Kiesha Sparks, John Conn, Jordan Cornett, Todd Bailey, Jamie Catron, Kourtney Warren, Trisha Stegall, Brianna Tufts, Chelsea Mays, John Barhorst, Kirsten Stevens, Hope Sloan, Amanda Birriel, Joseph Daniel Smith, Morgan Carey, Katlyn, Jordan Tipton, Kara Conley, Amy Fultz, Teri Lashal May, Bradley Kim, T.J. Adkins, David Jones, Maddie Hardin, Katrina Little, Garrett Dale, Kira Fouches, Corey Wright, Lindsey Jones, Carson Plank, Dalton Stacy, Niki Cottle, Zach McCune, Jose Banks, Destiny, Linda Taylor, Dustin Wright, Chelsea Mayse, Katie Penne, Kasia Williams, Ethan Lovill, Chris Spillman, Taylor Summery, Brian Wallace, Sierra Johnson, Karena McGuire, Megan Armstrong, Johnny Bajusz, Erica Keller, Jonathan Lacy, Tiffanie Brown, Kathryn Duff, Holli Reynolds, Malie Oney, Haley DeVaney, Stephanie Barker, Lara Danielle Gullett, Heather Robin, Megan Nance, Kasey Manns, Cara Crum, Taylor Watson, Brianna Johnson, Blake Garvin, Alli Banks, Kelli Hopkins, and Candace Justice.
The exhibit includes approximately 70 pieces of artwork in various media with some pieces identified for viewing through 3-D glasses, which will be provided. A People’s Choice Award will be given to three works that receive the most votes by May 28. Visitors viewing the exhibit are encouraged to vote for their favorite work.
A reception for the student’s work will be held at the Arts Center on Sunday, May 18, 2- 4 p.m. The exhibit may be viewed free of charge during the reception or during regular operating hours of the Rowan County Arts Center: Tues – Sat, noon-6 p.m.; Sun, 2-5 p.m.
