Feb. 13, 2013 — The man accused of passing a school bus and striking a 13-year-old has been arrested.
Scottie D. Ingle, 30, of Morehead, was charged at 12:45 p.m. with one count wanton endangerment second-degree; one count passing loading/unloading school/church bus first offense; and one count failure to notify DOT of address change.
Ingle was arrested without incident and lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center.
Juvenile struck by car at bus stop
A Rowan County student was injured this morning when he was struck by a motorist apparently trying to pass a stopped school bus, according to police.
Kentucky State Police said on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at approximately 7:10 a.m., they were notified of a vehicle versus pedestrian injury accident on KY 519 South in Morehead.
Scottie D. Ingle, 30, of Morehead was operating a 2008 Toyota Corolla southbound on KY 519 South when he attempted to pass a stopped school bus, police said.
Ingle failed to observe a juvenile that was attempting to get on the school bus and struck the juvenile with his vehicle.
The juvenile was airlifted from the accident scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Criminal charges are pending at this time. Trooper Keith Howard was assisted on scene by Rowan County Fire and E.M.S.
The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Keith Howard.
