Sean Woods named coach at MSU

May 11, 2012 —

Former UK standout Sean Woods, who led Mississippi Valley State to the 2012 NCAA Tournament, Friday was named the 13th head coach in Morehead State University history.

He will be formally introduced during a public press conference on Monday at 2 p.m. at MSU’s Adron Doran University Center.

Woods led Mississippi Valley State to a 50-80 record in four years.

The 2011-12 Delta Devils finished 21-13 overall, 17-1 in the SWAC, won the conference tournament and advanced to the school’s fifth-ever NCAA Tournament.

He succeeds Donnie Tyndall who resigned in April to become the head coach at Southern Mississippi.
