MSU outreach retreat

All of Morehead State University’s extended services from across the state got together in Morehead for a college access retreat.

The retreat featured all outreaches of MSU including Upward Bound, KET-GED Connection, Educational opportunities center, Educational talent search, Student Support Services, Gear up Kentucky, Today’s Youth, Retired-Senior and Volunteer Program, and MSU Corps.

Dr. Dan Connell, Assistant Vice President for the Center for Adult Education and College Access Programs, was in charge of the retreat and welcoming speaker.

“(This day is to) get together to learn about each other’s programs and what we’re doing throughout the region to work in communities and serve the people of the region,” Connell said. “This population serves kids from elementary schools to senior citizens with each of the programs they’re involved in. Some of them work in extended campuses from the Gateway area and the KET-GED which serves the whole state.”

“It was definitely a success,” Connell said. “The evaluations of feedback I’ve gotten back were very high and they thought it was a great way to get together and do planning.”

MSU’s employees involved in the retreat span from as far west as Middlesboro to Ashland in the east.
