Past History of The Morehead News
The Morehead Advance, The Morehead Sun, The Morehead Mountaineer, The Morehead Leader, and The Morehead Times have led the way for The Morehead News since 1883. There has always been a deep hunger in the hearts of this community for factual, meaningful local news.

Since its inception over 116 years ago, The Morehead News has filled the hunger for local news. Our methods of producing a newspaper have changed since the beginning, but not our commitment to the community.
Today, The Morehead News is owned by Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc., (cnhi), a privately-owned publishing company based in Birmingham, AL.
Whether it was in 1836 or today, our content reflects day-to-day life in our county. The future allows us even greater opportunity to chronicle the growth and development of our community. As we grow along with the community, our mission will remain the same. We will continue to be the leading provider of community news, information, and related services.
